Cool coastal French bistro in the Greenwich Village. This restaurant serves dishes that are closer to Mediterranean food than to typical French cuisine. Would recommend trying crispy artichokes for appetizers, the lamb tagine and Claudette burger for mains. While you wait for your dishes, they also offer a complimentary plate olives.
The lamb tagine is is more of a Moroccan dish and is a bit spicy. The burger is very delicious and has a smoky flavor. It comes with fries and garlic aioli sauce. I wasn't expecting to get a burger in a French restaurant, but they did it really well.
The seating is a bit dense, and the place is quite popular. Would recommend getting a reservation especially for a weekend visit.
Bright, airy and vibrant location with aesthetic interior, outdoor seating and indoor/outdoor seats when the doors are all open, but no seat is bad. Friendly servers with solid service. Every meal is beautifully presented and delicious + there's something for everybody. Great cocktails and wines. Slightly noisy when crowded but not too bad, even the older crowd didnt mind.
After a third visit to Claudette I’d say it’s consistently ok. The restaurant is beautiful and the menu has a nice selection but I’ve never been wowed by any dish. Last night I had the roast sasso chicken and side salad and my husband had the burger. The standout to me was definitely the fries. They were perfectly salted and crispy and I loved the garlic aioli. The rest of the food was totally fine but not memorable. We were there for an early dinner before a show and about halfway through our meal they cranked the music up to an obnoxious level. No one wants to have to shout to the person next to them, especially in an airy and sun soaked dining room where you’d think the goal would be quieter and elegant. I’ve been here for brunch and would recommend that over dinner.
